ECU RESOURCES

There are a variety of resources on campus to assist students with study skills, time management, note taking, and test taking as well as course specific instruction.

The Pirate Tutoring Center is located in 2500 Old Cafeteria Complex and can be reached at tutoring@ecu.edu or by calling 252-328-6001.  The Center provides the following assistance free of charge:

  • Free tutoring is available at the Joyner Library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  No appointment is needed.
  • Study skills development is available to help student identify strengths and improve weaknesses.  Assistance is available for freshmen and can be tailored to the needs of upperclassmen as well.
  • Specialized workshops and other academic events are designed to help students succeed during the freshman year and beyond.  Watch for Final Exam Preparation and Survivor Series workshops each semester.
  • Online study skills assistance is available at the Pirate Tutoring Center website at www.ecu.edu/aa/priatetutoringcenter and on the PTC facebook page.
  • Tutoring referrals.  Students who need tutoring in specific subjects are encouraged to contact the Pirate Tutoring Center for assistance and possible referral to other tutoring resources.
