International Affairs

Welcome to East Carolina University’s Office of International Affairs!

As the University’s central point of contact for international activity, we do many things:

● We oversee summer study abroad programs in  over a dozen locations

● We conduct international student exchange programs with universities in 35 countries overseas

 

● We recruit and offer programs for ECU’s ever-expanding international student population

 

● We manage the University’s international linkages with twenty sister universities in a dozen countries

 

● We support an active program of faculty development and exchange

 

● We furnish services for ECU’s several visiting international scholars

 

● We provide funding through the Rivers Endowment for both student and faculty activities

 

● We conduct international education outreach into our local community

Our aim in all of this activity is to provide a heightened awareness on campus and its surrounding environs of global issues, and to support the University’s commitment to increase diversity in its faculty and student bodies. While these are serious goals, we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We try to be the friendliest office at East Carolina, to hold the best social events on campus, and to run the most enjoyable University programs.
