Monika Wojciechowski

Assistant Director for International Student Recruitment

Monika is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and admission process for international undergraduates. Monika is no stranger to cross-cultural transformations. She was born and raised in Gdansk, Poland where she received a BA in TESOL. Then, having moved to the U.S. in 1995, she majored in Romance Languages at Hunter College and participated in semester-long exchange programs in France at the University of Paris XII and in Italy at the University of Pavia. Monika also holds a MSEd degree in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College. She brings to ECU knowledge and experience gained as a teacher, advisor, and student.

Brandi Dudley

Brandi Dudley has been the Assistant Director for Study Abroad at East Carolina University since May 2005. She is the coordinator of the semester and academic year study abroad programs and is responsible for fulfilling goal two of the strategic plan; to expand and diversify overseas opportunities for ECU students. She is responsible for student recruitment, admission to study abroad, and admitting and assisting the incoming international exchange students. Brandi studied in Würzburg, Germany as an exchange student during her undergraduate academic career at Appalachian State University and is a study abroad alumna from ECU, having studied and interned at the University of Mannheim in Germany in 2004. She has been a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators since 2005 and has presented at the NCAIE conference.

William Mallett

Bill has been the Assistant Director of International Student Advisement at East Carolina University since July of 2003.  Previously he served eleven years as the International Student Adviser at a college in Brooklyn, New York.  At ECU his responsibilities include the development, implementation and evaluation of all programs that support international students.  He also ensures that the University is in compliance with United States immigration policies and assists faculty with implementing Summer-study abroad programs.  Bill plans and directs the international student orientation program and is currently partnering with other ECU departments on special projects that will assist and connect our international student population.  Furthermore, he earned a doctoral degree in the College of Education with a concentration in educational leadership in May 2007 from ECU.


Outside of ECU, Bill is very involved in local and state youth soccer and has been a coach and referee since his oldest son began playing 2001. He finds coaching soccer to be very rewarding and enjoys teaching young players the sport. Bill is married to Rita and they have two sons, Maximilian and John Carlo.

Rhonda Brown

Mrs. Brown has been employed at East Carolina University since 1981. She has been in the position as Immigration Specialist since October 1992. She is responsible for overseeing the compliance of Federal Laws and Regulations governing immigration for foreign students, faculty, staff, and visitors. In her position, she files F-1, J-1, TN, H-1B, and Permanent Residence petitions with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services for the main campus and The Brody School of Medicine. She is the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) authorized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and the J-1 Responsible Officer authorized by the State Department for East Carolina University. Mrs. Brown is a Fulbright Alumni. She participated in the Fulbright Seminar for U.S. Administrators in International Education 2005 in Germany. She has been a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators since 1992. She is actively involved in the NAFSA Trainer Corps and has chaired workshops and presented sessions at the state, regional, and national conferences.
