Welcome to the TAC

In 1912 a group of prominent business and civic leaders raised $60,000 to build the historic four-story Proctor Hotel, now known as the Self Help Building, at the corner of Evans and Third streets in downtown Greenville.  Nestled deep within the confines of this renovated facility is suite 100 -- home for the Technology Advancement Center (TAC) - - a place where technology addressing needs critical to distance, mobile, and hybrid elearning is discovered, tested, and applied.

One of the primary goals of the Center is to conduct research and test new technology for communication, computer and information technology, and then apply this technology in innovative ways that enhance the quality and excitement of learning.  Often these technology solutions have impact beyond the university and Eastern North Carolina and are carried into distant lands and places.

Not all of the pilot projects designed and implemented by the TAC are concerned with learning.  Sometimes that are directed toward the improvement of organizational effectiveness or quality of life of students, staff, and faculty.

Welcome to the TAC Portal.  We want this to be a helpful site for you.  If you are a first-time visitor or an alliance partner, we want to thank you for spending time with us. Please take a moment to tell us more about what brought you here.  The TAC Could be your  partner on a new adventure.   Please click on the following link if you would like to discuss a project with us.  Click and Collaborate Now!
