Description:

The goal of ECU's Security Studies Program is to develop new thinking toward National Security by understanding emerging threats and coordinated responses between different agencies and levels of government.

The Security Studies Program encourages an integrated view of Homeland Security. Our mission is to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities expected of students pursuing a career related to homeland security at the national, state, and local levels.

To this end, the Security Studies Program is an interdisciplinary program that pools knowledge and talent from these departments:
  • Political Science
  • Public Administration
  • Criminal Justice
  • Planning
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • Other associated departments and programs throughout the university
