Giving to the College

concept drawing, new performing arts center

Alumni and Friends,

Your continued support of the College is critical to our future success. The College of Fine Arts and Communication has benefited over the years from the generosity of countless supporters—alumni, friends, foundations and corporations.

That support has made it possible for the College to continue the tradition of excellence in educating our students and providing over 200 performances per year to the Greenville community.

There are many ways you can support us—from annual gifts and capital contributions. Whatever the vehicle, your support enables us to continue to educate future generations of scholars.

To learn more about giving opportunities and methods of giving, view the options that follow below. You may also give online or contact us directly. Many companies have matching gifts. Check to see if your company is on the matching gifts list!

Priorities for the College of Fine Arts and Communication
  • Visual and Performing Arts Center [ view Performing Arts Center Proposal in PDF format ]
Creating a performing arts center will allow our nationally-recognized dancers the ability to rehearse in appropriate spaces, our orchestra and wind ensemble will have a venue to call home, an additional art gallery will expand the presence of the visual arts in the region, and broadcast journalists will sharpen their skills in a state-of-the art facility.

There's something for everyone in the proposed performing arts center--it's great for the region, for Greenville, for our alumni, and most importantly, for our students.
  • Creating an endowment for the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival
Endowing the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival will secure a cultural jewel in the crown of eastern North Carolina. In the past eight seasons, the festival has offered over 35 concerts, reached nearly 20,000 youngsters through our children's concerts in public and private schools, and provided well over 125 master classes for ECU and regional string students. Over 175 world-class musicians have brought their artistry from five continents to our region. With your support, this monumental influx of professional musicianship can continue to benefit the students and audiences of our region.
  • Endowed Scholarships
Scholarships help ensure that the best students can attend ECU regardless of their financial circumstances. For more information, Mary Jane Gaddis at 252-328-1268 or via e-mail.
  • Endowed Professorships
ECU faculty members combine brilliant scholarship with inspirational teaching. Gifts that support faculty, such as endowed professorships, honor these scholars and provide enduring support for the university's most important positions. Did you know North Carolina matches professorships gifts? For more information, contact Mary Jane Gaddis at 252-328-1268 or via e-mail.
  • Increasing the CFAC annual fund
Unrestricted contributions to the CFAC Annual Fund impact the yearly operating budget, allowing our students to achieve a margin of excellence in education. Annual Fund support enhances the College’s ability to build and sustain a team of gifted faculty and attracts a diverse student body. Unrestricted gifts are particularly valuable because they are made with the foresight that the needs of ECU students and faculty change over time. These gifts permit the College to allocate resources where they are needed most during the current school year. As such, the Annual Fund plays a primary role in enabling the school to realize the progressive education mission that distinguishes an East Carolina and CFAC education.
Information regarding endowments for scholarships, chairs, professorships, and other programs are available upon request. There is a broad range of naming opportunities for gifts of an appropriate size.
