DHS Grants and Contracts is responsible for the management and complete accounting cycle for active Division of Health Sciences (DHS) research, training, and service grants and contracts. As a division level office, DHS Grants and Contracts supports division level approval authority for financial transactions for Brody School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and School of Allied Health Sciences. All DHS grants and contracts are unique in nature, and range from projects which are sponsored by Federal and State agencies, private foundations, and pharmaceutical companies, to North Carolina Division of Health & Human Services (DHHS) professional services contracts for healthcare support within the Eastern NC region.
This office is responsible for the review and approval of all DHS grants pre-award proposal budgets and the monitoring of all DHS post-award activities and financial transactions. It also serves as a resource for helping to assure that grant spending and requests for funding are in accordance with federal, state, and private sponsor rules and regulations.
