The Laupus Library Computer Lab is loaning out digital camcorders, digital cameras, laptops, and TurningPoint as part of their Equipment Loan Program. The loan program is available to the ECU Division of Health Sciences faculty, staff, and students.
 
Who can checkout equipment?
At this time, only ECU Division of Health Sciences (DHS) faculty, staff and students are allowed to checkout a laptop. Division of Health Sciences includes the Brody School of Medicine and the Schools of Allied Health Sciences and Nursing. All other students can checkout laptops from Joyner Library. Please review our loan agreement.

What are the digital camcorder specs?
Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108: 40x optical zoom, 80x digital zoom. Accessories included with the loan include a USB cable, rechargeable battery pack, AC adapter and power cord, AV cable, operating manual, Handycam application CD-Rom software, and carrying case.

What are the digital camera specs?
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S40: 4.1 Megapixel, 3x optical zoom, 16MB internal memory. Accessories included with the loan include a 128MB memory card, USB cable, 2 sets of AA rechargeable batteries, and carrying case.

What are the laptop specs?
Lenovo T61 laptops (10 available) have built-in wireless card with 15.4” widescreen display. Other specs: Intel Core 2 Duo processor (1.8 GHz), 2GB of memory, SD media card reader, and CD/DVD writer. Microsoft Office 2007 installed.

Gateway M255 laptops (10 available) have a built-in wireless card with 14" widescreen display. Other specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of memory, SD media card reader, and CD/DVD writer. Microsoft Office is installed.

Which mini DVD formats are compatible with the digital camcorder?
The digital camcorders accept 8cm DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD+R DL.

What is TurningPoint?
TurningPoint is a student response system, and is a product of Turning Technologies.

What is included when loaning TurningPoint?
The TurningPoint loan kit includes a set of 50 clickers, USB receiver, software CD, and a laptop with the TurningPoint software installed.

When can you checkout equipment?
You can reserve equipment Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am - 4pm excluding holidays when the computer lab is closed. View library hours.

Where do you go to checkout equipment?
All equipment must be checked out from the Computer Lab, Room 2502. For questions or directions, please call (252) 744-3081.

How long is the checkout period?
Equipment may be checked out for one week. They may also be renewed if not already reserved by another borrower. For more information or to make a reservation, please review the loan agreement.
