Faculty Positions Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at East Carolina University seeks clinical pulmonologists, intensivists, and allergists to join our academic group at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a tenure track or fixed-term appointment. Positions exist for clinicians, clinician-educators, as well as those pursuing a clinician-scientist pathway. Opportunities for leadership exist including fellowship program director, director of interventional pulmonary service, co-director of the Sleep Lab, and head of respiratory therapy services. Candidates graduating from a fellowship program interested in pursuing a clinical or translational path in academic medicine are welcome. Collaborative opportunities exist in the basic science departments including physiology & immunology with scientists involved in animal models of asthma, environmental disease, PAP, and sarcoidosis. The division is clinically productive, highly respected and actively involved in the training of medical students, residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows through our affiliation with a single 756-bed tertiary care hospital (Pitt County Memorial Hospital). Assistant Professor The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine seeks someone to join our existing Pulmonary and Critical Care group at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level, with a tenure track appointment. The Division is located at Pitt County Memorial Hospital adjacent to the Brody School of Medicine. This opportunity is driven by the planned addition of a new cardiovascular institute and the expansion of the medical ICU beds to 24. The candidate will be active in rounding with a multidisciplinary team including fellows and medicine house staff as well as coordinating administrative and quality assurance duties. The candidate will be encouraged/expected to initiate and engage in scholarly activities including clinical trials, outcome studies, as well as participate in transitional research studies involving and established pulmonary biology laboratory. MD, BC/BE intensivist/pulmonologist with strong clinical and procedural skills in all facets of critical care. This is an academic position at a single institution and applicants should qualify for appointment at the assistant, associate or professor level. 
Lung Cell/Biology Translational Research Faculty Position The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine in the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University seeks qualified clinical and basic scientists for faculty positions at the assistant, associate and professor level for tenure, tenure-track or fixed-term faculty appointments. Special needs exist or are anticipated in the Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care for a new Lung Cell Biology and Translational Research Program. Targeted areas of interest include molecular mechanisms of immune-based pulmonary disease, murine models of lung disease, and models investigating T-regulatory lymphocyte, dendritic and macrophage involvement. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and training. Candidates should have 3-5 years of research experience and either have ongoing extramurally funded research programs or demonstrate a high probability of developing a self-sustaining program within 3 years. Candidates must possess a MD or PhD degree from an accredited institution, show strong evidence of academic and/or clinical productivity and identify new or synergistic initiatives relevant to the clinical, research and educational mission of the school. Interventional Pulmonologist The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at East Carolina University seeks an interventional pulmonologist to join our expanding academic group at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a tenure track or fixed-term appointment. Recruitment is driven by an expanding medical campus and development of a new cardiothoracic institute. There is currently an active IP program with an outstanding regional referral practice, bronchoscopy facilities (both in-patient and office) with access to Nd-Yag, stents, PDT, AF, EBUS, rigid bronchoscopy/thoracoscopy in OR, and a collaborative thoracic surgical group. Positions exist for clinicians, clinician-educators, as well as those pursuing a clinician-scientist pathway. Opportunities for leadership exist, including a director of interventional pulmonary service, development of a "proceduralist service", future development of an IP fellowship, growing medical simulation lab, and expansion of all activities in a multidisciplinary lung cancer group. Candidates graduating from an IP fellowship program are preferred, but those with clinical IP experience will be considered. Post Doctoral Fellow East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine seeks a Research Associate (Post Doctoral Fellow) to join our academic group. This candidate would investigate the role of B cells as initiators and regulators of pulmonary granulomatous reactions and to explore molecular and cellular pathways of antigen presentation and cytokine production by B cells in the sarcoid lung.
