Dr. Lora Lee Smith-Canter's research interests range across the field of special education, focusing primarily upon social interaction interventions for young children with developmental delays or identified disabilities, multicultural issues in special education, and the role of technology in special education. These interests have resulted in focused academic endeavors, such as published articles and presentations in these areas at state and national conferences. In addition to Dr. Smith-Canter’s interest and work in special education research, she views teaching and working with her students as her most important and most rewarding role. She is a dedicated, motivated, and energetic teacher who has high expectations for the students in her classes and strives to model the teaching practices she wants her students to emulate in their classrooms.
