EXSS Masters Degree Admissions Criteria
To be considered for admission into Master of Arts program in Exercise and Sport Science a student must present the following:
1. A baccalaureate degree in a related field from an institution accredited by a regional association.
2. A grade point average of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate work or a grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale in either the undergraduate major work or work taken during the senior year.
3. Satisfactory scores on either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogy Test (MAT). Generally minimum requirements are a combined score (i.e., verbal, quantitative, and analytical) of 1200 on the GRE or a score of 35 or above on the MAT.
4. Students, whose first language is not English, must receive an acceptable score on the Test of English As A Foreign Language (TOEFL).
5. Students whose undergraduate preparation lacks essential prerequisite coursework or whose baccalaureate degree is in a non-related field may have additional requirements.
Acceptance is subject to availability of slots in the concentration (i.e., Adapted Physical Education, Athletic and Physical Education Administration, Exercise Physiology, Physical Activity Promotion, Physical Education Pedagogy) to which the application is made.
