The candidate is expected to develop a vibrant research program studying pediatric obesity, contribute to graduate education in a nationally ranked interdisciplinary Ph.D. program (http://www.ecu.edu/cs-hhp/exss/phd-bioenergetics.cfm), participate in ongoing interdisciplinary research efforts involving obesity and diabetes, and have demonstrated potential or success in obtaining extramural research funding and provide service to the university, community, and profession. Expertise in pediatric obesity is preferred; however, applicants with broader research interests in the areas of metabolic disease that compliment current foci will also be considered.
Applicants must have an MD and/or Ph.D. degree or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with postdoctoral and/or other post-graduate research experience and a strong research agenda; candidates that hold the MD degree should be Board Eligible/Board Certified. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions.
