What Tool Do I Use?

Concurrent Human Resources Implementations Result in Major ECU Business Process Changes

The concurrent implementations of Banner Human Resources, PeopleAdmin, and a new ECU web form called Position Change Form provides new tools for East Carolina University staff to update and enhance current internal business processes.  The advantage of the change is automation and improved accuracy of tracking human resource data. Below are 2 charts that you can reference to understand what tool to use when position or employee/job actions take place.

The PeopleAdmin Position Description Module will handle all new positions, reclassifications of positions, and abolishing positions. 

An in-house web form, called Position Change Form, was developed to handle budget changes, funding changes, and all other position actions that do not need to go through PeopleAdmin.  It will be accessed via OneStop under the Banner section when it becomes available. 

The Electronic Personnel Approval Forms (EPAFs) will handle all processes relating to a new employee, reclassifying an employee, funding change on the Employee's Job Record, changes on the Employee and/or Job, and other personnel actions for employees and/or the job. 

Although these tools will initially have a learning curve regarding the new processes and procedures, once they are mastered, the tasks will be less time consuming and the changes can be tracked.
