Welcome to Banner Training at East Carolina University

Attention all Banner Users!

The newest release of Banner and its associated modules (including Finance, Student, Financial Aid, Human Resources, PORT, ODS data warehouse, etc.) were placed into production on December 1, 2008. The conversion from the existing Banner release 7.3 to the new Banner release 8.0 occurred during the Thanksgiving Day weekend.

East Carolina University is the first UNC institution to run the latest Banner release. The successful implementation of Banner is a testament to the tremendous effort put forth by all staff, both functional and technical, who have participated on the banner project since 2003. They did an outstanding job!

How to Request Access to Banner and ODS:
First, log onto OneStop with your Pirate ID and password. Second, under section with the title of Banner, click on Banner Security Request form, select the one you want, and follow the directions to complete the form. When you sign up for Banner Finance, you automatically are granted ODS security, based on your Banner profile.

Please note you will need your ODS credentials (user ID and Password) when using the reports in the Public Folder located in the Human Resources folder on Report Manager. This change was enacted to increase the security of data. If you need assistance with your ODS Password, please contact the Help Desk (328-9866) for resets.

How do I use Banner Human Resources?

It is highly recommended that everyone read the Banner Human Resources Training Manual and the Initiating EPAFs Training Manual. The manuals contain details on terminology, navigation, routing, the EPAF process, and a step by step instruction for each EPAF. In addition, they provide answers to many questions regarding the Banner Human Resources system.

Click the link on the right, "Where are the Banner Human Resources Training Materials?" and/or "Banner Documentation" to access the documentation and training manuals which are now password protected. Just use your Pirate ID and Passphrase and click yes to display non-secure items. Once you are logged in, you will be able to access all of the website. When you navigate to other pages within the website, you will have to click yes again to display non-secure items.

Other Banner Training Classes

Banner Student, Banner Finance 7.3, Banner e~Print, ODS (Operational Data Store) and ecuBIC (East Carolina University Business Intelligence Center) classes are now available. Log onto OneStop to register for classes.
