BSOM PDA Initiative

What is the Brody School of Medicine PDA Initiative?
PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) allow one to manage personal information, browse the internet, check email, and utilize products such as Word, Excel, and more while on the go. To prepare medical students for their clinical experience, Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) requires students to purchase a PDA upon the second half of their second year. The PDA must be a Windows Mobile device with at least 64 MB of memory. Students are expected to synchronize their device at home or with their wireless laptops. BSOM faculty use and develop software for the Windows Mobile operating system device that will be used in class. Many software programs from unboundmedicine.com are provided by the Laupus Library for Health Sciences faculty, staff, and students. A student may apply for financial aid to purchase any other reference materials for his or her PDA.
