| Description | Centricity (GE Copyright) is GE Medical Systems (GEMS) software program that was purchased by the Brody School of Medicine at ECU for an electronic medical record system. This system expects to help Physicians to: - Increase availability of the medical record to multiple users

- Establish a database for improved case management and research
- Reduce cost of providing care
- Initiate and maintain an updated problem, medicine and allergy list of patients
The electronic medical record provides a continuous record for outpatient care services provided by all disciplines. This patient care record is utilized by all disciplines for the review and input of ongoing patient data and information |

| Ordering | BSOM - Health Information Systems and Services (HIS/S) has the primary responsibility for quality assurance checks to maintain data integrity. All users must request access through the Medical Director or Clinical Manager in their department to HIS/S. The Medical Director or Clinical Manager is responsible for the completion of the Centricity User Request form and notification of user status to HIS/S. All users must sign the “Centricity Usage Agreement” before accessing Centricity. Forms for access are found on the web site.
