Symantec 10 Installation Instructions

Special Notes
This version is for OS X.3 to X.4.11.

New to Symantec:
  • Adds a contextual menu item to help scan files while in the Finder.
  • Includes a Global Threat Assessment Widget for the Dashboard.

Known Issues:

  • Any versions of Symantec less than 9 will have to be uninstalled first. Anything higher can remain on the machine.
  • Auto-Protect doesn't scan Stuffit archives in the .SITX format
  • Corrupt .SIT and .SITX archives can cause Symantec to crash.
  • Symantec 10 cannot be installed on a UFS formatted or a Case-Sensitive HFS+ formatted disk.
Step 1
  • Download the software from OneStop.
  • A stuffed file called "Norton Antivirus Installer" will download and should unstuff automatically to reveal the installer folder.
  • Note: Most systems will automatically unstuff these files. If they do not, double-click on them.
