Special Notes This version is for OS X.3 to X.4.11. New to Symantec: - Adds a contextual menu item to help scan files while in the Finder.
- Includes a Global Threat Assessment Widget for the Dashboard.
Known Issues: - Any versions of Symantec less than 9 will have to be uninstalled first. Anything higher can remain on the machine.
- Auto-Protect doesn't scan Stuffit archives in the .SITX format
- Corrupt .SIT and .SITX archives can cause Symantec to crash.
- Symantec 10 cannot be installed on a UFS formatted or a Case-Sensitive HFS+ formatted disk.

Step 1 - Download the software from OneStop.
- A stuffed file called "Norton Antivirus Installer" will download and should unstuff automatically to reveal the installer folder.
- Note: Most systems will automatically unstuff these files. If they do not, double-click on them.

Step 2 - Click on the "Continue" button.
|
|
Step 3 - Click on the "Continue" button.
|
|
Step 4 - Click on the "Continue" button.
|
|
Step 5 - Click on the "Agree" button.
|
|
Step 6 - Select your main drive so there is a green arrow over it's icon.
- Click on the "Continue" button.

Step 7 - Select "Upgrade" or "Easy Install" depending whether this is a first install or an update to Symantec 9.

Step 8 - Type in your admin password and name.
- Click the "OK" button.
- Note: If you don't know your admin password, please call the Help Desk at 328-9866.

Step 9 - Close all applications.
- Click on the "Continue Installation" button.

Step 10 - Logout of your computer.
- Go to the following links to complete your Symantec setups.
