As the country observes the 218th anniversary signing of the United States Constitution, East Carolina University joins the celebration with a week of festivities honoring the document and its value to American history. During the week of September 12-16, 2005, various activities will take place on East Carolina’s campus.

J.Y. Joyner Library at East Carolina University was recently awarded a $9,999 grant by the North Carolina Humanities Council to help fund the 2nd Annual Eastern North Carolina Literary Homecoming.

The W. Keats Sparrow English Award recognizes excellence in research and writing by students enrolled in English 1200 level composition classes at East Carolina University. The award is sponsored by J.Y. Joyner Library, the Friends of Joyner Library and is named in honor of Dr. W. Keats Sparrow, professor of English and Dean Emeritus of the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences.
